Are we there yet? Achieving your Italian Adventure

Family in Canada

Do you remember those family trips across town or across the state when you were jammed in the car with your family? It was cramped. Your siblings were fighting and dad was yelling at all of you for distracting him.

“Are we there yet?” That is what we would say. “Almost!” Our parents would respond. “Almost!”

We just wanted to get there and start having fun. We didn’t understand that our parents had searched for the cabin, made lists, packed the car and reserved the place we were going. We just wanted to be there already.

Now we are adults. We have dreams of travel. We are busy and we want to get away. But how does that work? Where are we going to find the time to plan?

Aspetta! Wait! That’s what Take Me Home Italy is here to do for you. As children you didn’t need to do any of the work of searching for the cabin, charting the path to drive, organizing items for the family and reserving the actual location. We now take the place of your parents and do that for you.

You are dreaming of getting away from the normal day to day life and want an Italian adventure. You’re not sure exactly what you want to do over there but the food, the wine and the sunlight entice you.

You want to see some art but mostly you just want to relax. How do you do that?

Here’s how it will all work. The first thing we do is simply talk with you. We listen to your wants and your dreams. And we ask you some questions.

  • When would you like to travel? And how long can you spend in Italy?
  • Have you thought about your budget for this journey? There are many ways to do this but we would need to know approximately what budget works for you?
  • Who do you think will accompany you? How fit is everyone traveling? Are there any children involved? Will you all leave and return together?
  • What is the most important thing for you to accomplish while in Italy?
  • Romance? Art? Archeology? Food? Wine? Hiking? Laying on a beach? La dolce far niente? (The sweetness of doing nothing?) We can help you decide what is most important and make a plan to fit your desires.

We would have this free conversation via phone or skype and alleviate any worries you may have about getting everything organized and decided. I personally have spent a great deal of time in Italy, stayed in all kinds of places at many different price ranges. I have taken day trips to wineries, guided and unguided museum visits, eaten at gourmet restaurants and many trattorias and bars. I’ve taken the trains all over the country and even experienced a bus ride or two. I love planning vacations even when they are not for me. I can help you. Take Me Home Italy can help you.

We simply need time. With our process, we don’t just pick hotels or apartments at random. We look for places we have already visited that fit your needs. If we don’t find one, we search and check references so that you have a wonderful experience. You want something special? We will find what we think is the best that your money can buy. If you want to travel within 3 or 4 months, we may have challenges giving you the experience you deserve. Planning ahead at least 6 or 7 months is our best advice for you.

Our next step would be for us to create your plan. If you approve it, we move forward and book lodging, transportation and adventures. Before you know it you are on your way.

This time you won’t be in the back seat of dad’s car. You’ll be flying high and filled with the same anticipation you had as a child. “Are we there yet?” “Almost.”

Are you ready? Andiamo! Let’s go!
